Product Description

Semi-silica bricks exhibit minimal volume change at high temperatures and demonstrate excellent resistance to thermal shock—both rapid heating and cooling. Thanks to their exceptional thermal stability, these bricks enhance the overall integrity of masonry structures while effectively reducing the erosive impact of molten slag on the masonry itself. When in contact with high-temperature molten slag, a highly viscous, glaze-like layer forms on the brick surface, sealing off the pores and preventing slag from penetrating deeper into the material. This unique feature significantly boosts the brick’s resistance to corrosion. Semi-silica bricks are widely used in applications such as titanium-magnesium alloy electrolytic cells, aluminum smelting cells, acidic iron-making furnaces, and coke ovens.
